We get many questions form authors about different aspects of publishing books with Rogue Phoenix Press. Today we will answer some questions concerning publication and distribution of print books.

Most asked questions:

1. Remember Rogue Phoenix Press is mainly an ebook Publisher. As a service to our Authors we offer an option for a paperback version as Print On Demand (POD) books.
2. Since the books are POD, they are printed after they are ordered. Therefore, it can take 1-3 weeks to receive a book or books after they are ordered, depending on the shipping option chosen.
3. Since they are POD, RPP does not maintain an inventory of books or provide them to wholesale distributors, traditional bookstores, libraries or events, nor do we send copies to the authors unless they order and pay for them. Authors can order books at a discount by sending us an email.
4. We currently use Amazon as our print book provider. Amazon has two distribution categories: Standard and Expanded. There is no charge to the author for either.

From Amazon:
Standard Distribution publishes the book on Amazon.com and Amazon Europe.

Expanded Distribution

Booksellers and libraries purchase paperbacks from large distributors. If you enroll your paperback in Expanded Distribution, we’ll make your book available to distributors so booksellers and libraries can find your book and order it.

We currently work with US distributors, but booksellers and libraries outside of the US may purchase books from these US distributors. Expanded Distribution allows your book to be made broadly available outside of Amazon.

Enrolling your paperback in Expanded Distribution doesn’t guarantee it will be ordered by a particular bookseller or library. The decision to order your book lies solely with the individual booksellers and libraries. We can’t provide details on which booksellers and libraries purchased your book.
