Growing your Blog: Great Headlines
SHOULD YOU BLOG:
Many years ago, more than I care to count, I was told as an author I have to have a blog and blogging would grow my business. In my opinion, the same holds true now. However, there are so many bloggers and blogs in cyberspace, an author must find a way to attract people to their blog or it is a colossal waste of time. I’m going to spend the next few weeks, talking about my research into successful blogs. This is entirely theory, but I intend to use it on both of the Rogue Phoenix Press blogs.
HEADLINES:
The first in the list of tips for writing a better blog deals with the title or headline. The headline is what your readers see first. This small number of words helps readers decide whether they want to read your post. While looking through articles, I ran across a site called ‘CoSchedule’. One thing it does is analyze your post. CoSchedule recommends writing at least 25 blog heading. This site will analyze your headline. so check it out. Headline analyzer.
Your headline should use key words designed to attract the people you want to read your blog. Think about things an author might search for on google. My headline rates a 77% from Headline analyzer.
POST SIZE:
Post size is also important. Keep your paragraphs small, five to six sentences. Make your post easy to read. Authors tend to be wordy. A blog needs to be specific and to the point. Write about something you are passionate about and write to the your audience. If you write mystery, those readers are your target audience, romance, YA etc…
DEEP LINKS:
If you have written about this topic in the past, add a link to the post. This will send the reader to another post in your blog and keep them where you want them. At your site.
Real nice layout and good articles, absolutely nothing else we want : D.
Nice read, I just passed this onto a friend who was doing some research on that. And he actually bought me lunch as I found it for him smile Thus let me rephrase that: Thank you for lunch!
