Today I want to talk about steps that will help grow your blog.

If you want to be successful, you will utilize deep links and  SEO-ready images. Also, if you want comments, you will write a question at the end of the post. All of these things will help the reader identify with your blog. What are these three points and how does a blogger accomplish these. First let’s take a look at deep links.

DEEP LINKS:

These are relatively simple. It’s the practice of linking the present blog to one you’ve written in the past. Every time you write a post which talks about something you have blogged about in the past, you can link it to that post. For example last Tuesday’s post was about growing your blog with great headlines. The following link goes to that blog: this will help you reconnect with information from a previous blog.

ADD A QUESTION:

We post blogs and wish someone would comment and start a conversation. So many times this doesn’t happen. It’s so much more fun when there are comments to read at the end of the post. It makes the writing of the post seem more valuable. Think of the questions as the “call to action” not only does the question give the reader something to think about it encourages them to give their opinion. If you have a comment, make sure you reply back. This practice might generate a conversation.

SEO-READY IMAGES:

It’s important that your image fit with your blog’s theme. If you can, create templates for your post images. This way you can use the same fonts, colors and overall design. This isn’t really possible if a book is featured on the blog and the cover is the image used. When an image is SEO-ready it means the image name contains a keyword. This also might be more difficult with a book cover. It is very important that you set the alt-attributes for images as well, in the alt-attributes is where you can use keywords.
