Revamping #Twitter #Rules
Twitter is getting an overhaul. They are getting rid of bots, scams and fake news. Maybe.
Twitter has announced they are forging ahead with a set of new rules.
Twitter is a social media that has established a great way to communicate in a few words. However if you’ve lost followers lately, it could be because twitter has been examining the different scams. The majority of the American people know the Russian’s used social media to influence the 2016 elections. In an attempt to remedy this situation, various social medias have begun to reevaluate all the aspects.
Some of the new rules:
- Do not (and do not allow your users to) simultaneously post identical or substantially similar content to multiple accounts. For example, your service should not permit a user to select several accounts they control from which to publish a given Tweet.
- Do not (and do not allow your users to) simultaneously perform actions such as Likes, Retweets, or follows from multiple accounts. For example, your service should not permit a user to select several accounts they control to follow a specified account.
- The use of any form of automation (including scheduling) to post identical or substantially similar content, or to perform actions such as Likes or Retweets, across many accounts that have authorized your app (whether or not you created or directly control those accounts) is not permitted. For example, applications that coordinate activity across multiple accounts to simultaneously post Tweets with a specific hashtag (e.g. in an attempt to cause that topic to trend) are prohibited.
If you use twitters and have experienced a drop off of followers, it’s because of this attempt to stop the fake news, bots, spam etc. from becoming a threat. The frustrating thing about losing followers is if you have too many people you are following, twitter won’t allow you to follow more people, so if you are trying to build your followers, you will be lost in limbo. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of these new rules and attempts to limit the improper use of social media on Instagram, Pinterest, and Google+ just to name a few.
